"Painted Suitcase" How - To

Hi Friends,

What better way to begin a get away by remembering those favorite vacations from the past.  One of my most memorable vacations is when my husband and I took two of our adult daughters to Europe for a 3 week vacation. With my husband being Italian, and actually living there as a young boy...I was able to actually experience all of those memories that he shared with me over the years.  So....this How -To is an Italian Memory inspired - Vintage Suitcase. How fun to continue adding postcards from vacations to come as well as the names of the towns you visit.

If you don't want to take your suitcase out of the house, and just enjoy it at home...It will make great storage. You can even add legs to create a table for home decor. Think of stashing it on top of a cupboard for a great storage space, or decorate one for each of your children for their lifelong keepsakes!

With this How - To Sheet, you will have step by step directions.  Once again, we have used multiple colors of paint, glaze and sealers...which will give you an opportunity to try Old Town Paints' products that you may be new to you.
Each of our "How To" Sheets  have been created to help you. Feel free to copy them, and share them with be sure to use them in any way you wish. Have fun decorating your homes and gift giving!

Check out our website to find an Old Town Paints Retailer in your area where you will be able to pick up the How To Sheet!

"Brass Bowl" How - To

Where do you throw your keys?

Are they laying around on the counter or table?
Are you always looking for them....and they are not to be found?
We decided to redo an old Brass Bowl to create a fashionable spot for ours.
This is a very simple and quick project.
You will find yourself looking around the house or thrift store and asking,
What else can I paint?
Besides...if you haven't used the new Metallic Waxes that Old Town Paints offers...

"Painted Flower Pots" How - To

It's that time of year again.....time to get out in the yards and begin to freshen up and get ready for all of our Spring time entertaining. What better way to begin than by Painting Flower Pots!  You can use new flower pots, old ones from the garden, or someone else's castaways found in garage sales and thrift stores.

With water shortages...we decided to plant succulents in ours. The colors that we chose matched the colors in the leaves of our plants. The color combinations are endless with the over 80 colors to choose from from Old Town Paints! We used Old Town Chalk Style Paints and the
 NEW Old Town Paint's Stains.

Match your decorating decor both inside and out.  These are also great for gift giving.  Paint them in multiples and always have some on hand for that last minute gift.

"Lace Eggs" How - To

How many of you have scraps of old Lace and trims stashed away?  This How - To for "Lace Eggs" was inspired by wanting to find a good use for little bits of Lace, rick - rack and ribbons.

We begin by painting some paper mache eggs and then painted our bits of trim. The Lace is easily attached using double sided tape, and then the decorated Egg is sealed using one of Old Town Paints Clear Finishes.

This idea can easily be adapted to many surfaces including frames, boxes, mirrors, etc. Looking for a  great project for artists of all ages.  Have fun with your family....or invite a friend over for a project!

Go to your local Old Town Paints Retailer to pick up a free How - To Sheet. If you don't know where your nearest retailer is....look on the website on the "Find a Retailer" tab.

The decorating possibilities are endless......Enjoy!
